about me

Hello Beautiful Soul! I am so grateful and appreciative that you landed here. Welcome, our journey is just beginning.

My name is Angela. I am a 200hr Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor, Certified Yoga Teacher for Kids and Children with Special Needs, Certified Meditation Facilitator, and Reiki Practitioner.

Nearly 20 years ago, while living in Japan, I took my first yoga class and immediately felt a deep connection to the practice and philosophy. Over the years, I fell in love with yoga's healing properties and love to share this aspect of the practice.

I believes that time on the mat is a sacred time to create space in our mind, body and heart for the work we are about to do – which includes awareness of our current energetic and physical state, taking time to allow the nervous system to shift, and moving into a feeling and listening state. My teachings are rooted in spirituality and energy work.

I currently live in Peterborough, Ontario with my family, and I have two beautiful children, my youngest of whom has Cerebral Palsy. My journey with a child with "special abilities" has shaped my outlook on life. A perspective centered on slowing down and being present, living with gratitude, and stepping away from judgment and into love.

When I’m not on my mat, I love to travel, get into nature, and spend time with my family.

I can't wait to connect with you!

“I want everyone to know that we have the ability to change our lives. When we do the inner work and practice mindfulness, our energy shifts and our outer world changes. Our perceptions change and thus our experiences in the world around us change.”

— Angela June

“I am honoured to take this moment to brag about Angela’s Yoga Programming for children and children with Special Needs. Angela works with children with Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Genetic Syndromes, Acquired Brain Injury and Autism and the list continues.

I had the privilege of watching Angela lead a group of neurologically different students with a variety of abilities through beautiful and accessible yoga sessions.  The children ranged in age from 4 years of age to 11.  The children had a range of physical and cognitive abilities such as verbal/nonverbal, tight tone/lose tone, children able to sit and stand independently and those requiring intensive one to one physical support to move.

Angela invited the children into a calming practice that captivated their attention from the moment she arrived.  Instructions were clear and modified to meet the children’s specific needs.  Each child felt successful and included.

Angela provided a very creative session involving a variety of props, stories, imagery and sequences of movement.

After the session, the children were calm, happy and empowered that they could do Yoga!

I have since gone on to learn and be mentored by Angela as a Special Needs Yoga Teacher.

I would recommend Angela if you are looking for excellent Children’s Yoga Programs, Yoga Programs for Children with Special Needs and Adult Yoga, (I have the pleasure of taking my own classes with Angela).”
